Phoenix Art Musuem
"Impressive modern and contemporary art works by
Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Henri
Rousseau form the main collections of Phoenix Art Museum.It
houses nearly 17,000 works.The exhibits are divided
into three areas: Art of Asia, Art of the Americas &
Europe to 1900, and Art of Our Time: 1900 to the Present.
Visitors can learn about the collection through video
presentation and interpretation in the Museum's Orientation
Theater.

Heard Museum
Heard Museum houses Native American cultural exhibits,
works of contemporary Native American artists and craft
demonstrations alongwith outstanding performances in
its amphitheater by native artist.The mission and philosophy
of the Heard today is to promote appreciation and respect
for Native people and their cultural heritage, with
emphasis on the traditional cultures of the Greater
Southwest and on the evolving Native American Fine Art
Movement.

Arizona Science Center
The Arizona Science Center contains a giant-screen theater,
a planetarium with 60 foot dome and 350 exhibits (including
some "please touch" exhibits for kids).Opened
in April 1997,this state-of-the-art facility explains
the physics of making gigantic soap bubbles, the technology
of satellite weather systems, and more.Its high tech
structure is designed to represent the desert.Its exterior
looks like a mountain peak and mesa and an interior
reflect the canyons.

Desert Botanical Garden
Desert Botanical Garden is spread over 150 acres of
land and contains more than 4,000 different species
of cacti, succulents, trees, and flowers.Its truly the
world's largest outdoor desert plant collection.The
best time to visit it is in spring when the wildflower
displays are in bloom.In the core garden and in the
Harriet K. Maxwell Wildflower Trail are displays of
african daisies, aloes, blue bells, desert lupine, arroyo
lupine, desert marigold, and many others in full bloom.

Papago Park
Enjoy biking and hiking trails, picnics and fishing
ponds in Papago Park .It spans 1,200 acres of land with
red buttes of the Papago Mountains forming a perfect
backdrop. One of the main attractions at Papago Park
is the Hole-in-the-Rock, a weathered tunnel which frames
a view of downtown Phoenix.

Phoenix Zoo
The Phoenix Zoo, is truly one of the largest non-profit
zoological parks in United States. It is a home to more
than 1300 animals, including 200 endangered or threatened
birds, mammals and reptiles from around the world.The
Zoo has four distinctive trails: Arizona Trail, Tropics
Trail, Discovery Trail and Africa Trail which are replicas
of habitats like an African savanna and a tropical rain
forest. Meerkats, warthogs, desert bighorn sheep, and
endangered Arabian oryx are among the unusual sights
of the trail.

South Mountain Park
The hiking trails of South Mountain Park accommodates
all skill levels,thus making it truly the largest municipal
park in the world.This 16,500-acre park is home to more
than 300 specimens of plant life and a wide variety
of fauna, including rabbits, foxes, coyotes, snakes,
lizards and birds. The park features picnic areas and
ramadas, hiking trails and spectacular lookouts.The
main entrance to the park is about seven miles south
of downtown Phoenix. From Phoenix or the west Valley,
drive south on Central Avenue until it ends.
